What You'll Learn in Our CCW Course
Our California CCW training covers a broad range of topics designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to safely carry a firearm. This is not a comprehensive list, as we tailor each class to meet the needs of the specific group of participants. However, the following are some key topics covered in our CCW training:
California Laws Governing the Use of Deadly Force: Understand the legal parameters and responsibilities when using deadly force in self-defense situations.
Firearms and Home/Vehicle Safety: Learn best practices for safely storing and carrying firearms in both the home and vehicle.
Selecting a Pistol for Self-Defense: How to select the right firearm for concealed carry.
Ammunition Knowledge and Defensive Ammunition Selection: Learn about different types of ammunition and which is most effective for self-defense.
Basic Defensive Pistol Skills: Master the fundamentals of shooting a pistol for defense, including grip, stance, aiming and trigger control.
Drawing from Concealment: Learn how to efficiently draw your weapon from concealment while maintaining safety and speed.
Loading and Stoppage Remediation: Understand how to safely load your weapon and clear malfunctions during a defensive encounter.
Defensive Mindset and Awareness: Develop the mindset necessary for avoiding threats and making split-second decisions when faced with danger.
Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment: Learn the different ways to carry a firearm concealed and how to ensure your pistol is accessible and secure.
Firearms Qualification Course: Complete a range qualification to ensure you are proficient in handling your firearm in various conditions.
CCW Course Options
We offer two different CCW courses to meet the training requirements of various issuing agencies. Please check with your issuing agency to confirm their specific requirements.
One on One, Personalized 8-Hour Renewal Course - $1000
This private course is designed for those renewing their CCW permit.
One on One, Personalized 16-Hour Initial Course - $1800
This private 16-hour course is for first time applicants.
Required Equipment and Ammunition
For your CCW training, you will need the following equipment to ensure a safe and effective learning experience:
Eye and Ear Protection: Electronic ear protection is recommended for optimal hearing.
Holster: Important -Please bring a strong side, outside-the-waistband (OWB) holster specifically designed for your pistol model for your main training gun. Acceptable materials include non-collapsible sturdy leather, Kydex, or polymer only—no nylon Uncle Mike's-style holsters. Trigger-finger retention-release holsters are not allowed. Inside-the-waistband (IWB) holsters are allowed for the additional firearms that you are adding to your permit but you need an OWB holster for your main training gun. If you have any questions before purchasing your holster, please feel free to contact me.
Belt: A sturdy belt is essential to securely carry your firearm and accessories.
Magazine Pouch: A pouch for your magazines or speedloader.
Magazines/Speedloaders: You will need 4 magazines per pistol.
Handgun: The handgun you intend to use for your CCW must be used during the course. You will need 400 rounds of ammo for your primary handgun.
Ammunition for Additional Handguns: Bring 25 rounds per additional firearm that you will be qualifying with.
