Founded by Adam Johnson, our team is driven by a shared mission: to deliver clear, responsible, and confidence-building firearms instruction to people of all experience levels.
Training takes place primarily at United Sportsmen Range in Concord, California, centrally located in the San Francisco Bay Area. We specialize in:

Our Story
Adam did not grow up around firearms. He was raised in a household where guns were strongly discouraged— even toy guns were banned. At three years old, he attended an anti-gun rally with his mother as part of a well-intentioned effort to steer him away from violence. For many years, firearms were not part of his life at all.
That changed at 19 years old.
While riding in a car with his cousin and two friends, they became victims of an unprovoked shooting. Three rounds were fired into the vehicle. One bullet struck a friend in the arm and then hit his cousin in the neck. Miraculously, everyone survived.
In that moment, a decision was made that would shape the future of A-Team Firearms Instruction:
Never again would safety be left to chance.
What began as a personal journey into self-defense and responsibility grew into a lifelong dedication to firearms mastery, legal education, and teaching others how to protect themselves safely and confidently.
Today, we proudly serve the Bay Area as a trusted, highly certified training team focused on real-world readiness—not fear.
